Rapid Pressure Rise Relay

IMG-20110607-00179Do you need a Rapid Pressure Rise Relay (RPRR) to compliant the Pressure Relief Devices (PRD) already available from Heartland Solutions, Inc.? Not sure, well consider this –

In a power transformer when arcing occurs gas is generated and in turn starts to build up pressure inside the unit. The arcing will continue to increase the pressure until the operating pressure of the PRD is reached. This extended period of arcing can cause the insulation properties of the transformer oil and insulation paper to deteriorate.

The Heartland RPRR can provide dynamic protection for the power transformer as it initiates action when the pressure is rising and before it reaches the point where the PRD operates. This early reaction leads to a shorter arcing duration and potentially less damage.

Moreover, the RPRR can be subjected to full vacuum or 20 PSI positive pressure without damage and is:

  1. Highly sensitive to all fault pressure in transformer tank
  2. Able to performance consistently from -40 degrees C to +80 degrees C ambient temperature with repeated operations and automatic resetting
  3. Available with an optional seal in relay for locking of signal
  4. Shock and vibration resistant making it suitable for oil, gas, vertical and horizontal applications
  5. Offered with connection options that are 3 pin ANSI or standard plugs, flying leads or terminal box
  6. Available in a Flange mount or thread mount design
